In this video, we're going to be going over how to create a new RecTrac user to add to your database. So to do this, we're going to start out by going into user management. So we can search that in our menu and Click on User Management. And in here, we'll get a data grid. So these are all of our existing RecTrac users. So you can go in and select one and Click Change to edit a user. But to add a new one, we're just going to be clicking the Add Button here. And so what I would recommend here in the User name Field is you probably already have some sort of organization method here, where maybe you're just using the initials of the user. Or maybe you're using some sort of a numbering scheme. So in that case, you just want to kind of match what you already have, it just keeps things organized. So in my case, I'll just do initials and on use T U. And we'll call it the name test user.

And we'll keep our status on active and we don't need to do anything with password change date. If you do change your password under this user, it will just show the last date you did you did the password change. So that's nothing we need to fill in. And then we do need to choose a password. So you might have password requirements such as like you need a special character, you need a number, that's got to be a certain amount of characters total. So you will have to match that. And if you don't, it's going to give you a red warning. So you'll know if you're not meeting that requirement. So I'm going to put in a password here. And I will have to put it in a Confirm password that's going to have to match. The next step is selecting the user group for this user. So I'm going to say this test user belongs to the Burke front desk, user group. And permission list. If you're using permissions for your user, you can select what one they're under. In my case, I'm going to say Burke front desk, because that fits the user group.

And my email address, I would recommend putting in an email here, just because if the user ever forgets their password, and is on the RecTrac login Screen, they can hit Forgot Password. But only if they have an email linked here, will they get that recovery. So it's just another reason to put an email in there. And it's always good to just have that on file in here. So I'm going to say test@gmail.com, it says test users email, we can skip the workstation list and the Button miscellaneous slash override codes. That's more for override codes linked to a specific user for permission. So if that does apply, you can fill that in. And then Active Directory settings and Single Sign On settings are more for your organization. If you're using either Active Directory or single sign on, those will need to be filled out. In most cases, they're not being used.

So this is really the bare bones that you need to fill in to create a user and RecTrac. You do have a miscellaneous Settings tab with some more kind of in depth settings. But none of this is stuff that really needs to get filled in. And so we can kind of skip over those. If your users ever locked out, this Toggle will turn on and it won't let them to log in. So that's just kind of a lockout Toggle. So if you ever are locked out another user could untoggle that here. And that would let you sign back in. So we'll Click Save. That's really all we need to do. Unable to save record because the user name must be unique. Okay, so I've already created one with test user. So I'm going to do TU1. Close that. And we'll see this new test user one I created this here. So we can delete this other one. And so that's just kind of a quick example of creating a user and RecTrac. So now you can take your user and that will be your Username to log in and then your password. And now this user will be able to log in to RecTrac and start navigating
