In this video, we're going to review the program for household purge in RecTrac. To access the household purge program, you can go to the menu and you can Type in the word household or word purge. And you can select the household purge menu item, there are two options in the options Pick list, there's the option to make households and active based off of the last active date. And then there's the option to purge all inactive households based off of the last active date. So if your goal is to actually purge household from your database, you're gonna be doing two separate runs typically. So the first one is going to be the process for inactivating households. And then you can make your date selection on the right hand side based off of whether you want to create three, or key three years versus five years or whatever selection you want to make as far as what's okay as far as data that you're willing to lose. So you put in your last active date, and then you can hit process and that'll inactivate all households that do not have any activity in the database as of that date.

And then your second option is going to be running it for the purge selection, right. So based off of probably that same date, you'll switch over to purge, you'll see two new options listed here. So the option to include households with a balance and have them be purged as well. And the option to purge households with any sort of purchase history data. And do you want to purge them as well. So two different options that you may or may not want to include, depending on your needs. There is no undo Button with this. So with anything, any Type of purge program, we want to make sure that our selections that we're using when we run this program, are the ones that we actually want to use. If you ran this incorrectly really the only option to kind of retrieve that data after the purchase complete is probably to revert to a backup of the database and restore that. So something we truly want to avoid typically, you're going to want to narrow down who kind of has access to this menu item. So only folks that you want to even access this program are going to have that ability to get to that and you can narrow that down through menu management. So that'll automatically limit down who has access to it and then the people that do have access to it are hopefully going to be running this with the options as intended. And that is a review of the household purge program.
