We suggest you watch the 3.1 touchscreen management video. For more detailed information about touchscreen management. We will look at a 10.3 touch Screen and how it converts to 3.1. Touch screens can be exported from your test database and import it into 3.1. After the live migration, it is important you export these items from your test database before the live migration and inform your consultant. You're planning to import these touch screens after the live migration. We'll explore these topics in more in the next video

Welcome to part two of the 3.1 touch Point Of Sale migration videos. If you're currently using touch Point Of Sale, you may have something that looks like this. After your database is migrated to 3.1, you may have something that looks like this. While it is functional, it may not be visually appealing. You may also notice that 3.1 offers a larger area to lay out your touch screens, then 10.3. To start customizing your touch screens, you'll want to navigate to the menu Button and Type in touch Screen management. Here, you will find seven different touch Tabs. This is because there are different touch tab areas in the database. For example, we have a touch Point Of Sale Screen within global sales. The SuperGrid and the normal touch Point Of Sale Screen. This is the one we'll be focusing on which is touchscreen area one. Navigating back to touch Screen management, you'll see touch Screen area one. If you select touch Screen area one and Click Edit in the bottom left. It will open the Screen where we can navigate between the different layers on the left hand side. And on the right is where we can customize the buttons and layout our Screen. These touch layers will come over in the migration process. So we're going to focus this video on a few things you can do to make your touchscreens look nicer. For example, if we select one of these buttons, and then right Click on it, it will open up a few different options of things we can do to the Button. I'm gonna first start by changing the Button. On this Screen, we can do a variety of things from changing the Button Type from a purchase Button to maybe a discount Button, or even a switch Button if need be. For this example, we're going to look at making the Button look more appealing. If we look at the Button down here, we'll see a preview in the bottom left. If you want, you can Click and drag to make this Button bigger, you can change your background color to maybe something a little bit lighter, I can change the font color to something that pops out a little bit more, you can change the font family the size, make it bold or normal. And you can align the text. For this example, I'm gonna change my font size to 300%. And I'm going to align my text to be centered. On the right hand side, I like to add a border to make the Button look three dimensional. If I add a border color of gray, and I put in a border width of 10. And I'm gonna change this from percent to pixel and then the border style I'm going to use it all the way at the bottom called outset. When I add that, you'll see the preview on the left where the Button starts to look more three dimensional and pops from the Screen. There are a number of additional things you can do on the Screen to customize a Button for advanced fonts, backgrounds, padding, or size. I do want to note that in the advanced background settings, there is the option to add an image to Button. This image needs to reside on the RecTrac server. Whether you're hosting your own database or VSI is hosting your database. That image needs to be on on whichever server you are using. When you're done, you can Click Save in the bottom left. Now that I have this Button the way I want, I need to lay out my Screen and adjust the other buttons, we can easily do so by selecting the Button. And now I'm gonna drag and drop it to the upper left to get it out of my way. If I want these other buttons to look the same, instead of customizing each one, I can select one of them. And then by holding the Control Button on your keyboard, I can multi select other buttons. Now that I have five other buttons selected, I could right Click and paste the Button theme. First, I need to make sure I copy this Button theme. So I'm gonna go ahead I'm gonna right Click, Click Copy Button. I'm gonna again select my buttons and hold down Control and then right Click and paste Button theme then it's as easy as just moving these buttons around to have them lay out nicely on my Screen. I obviously need to do a little bit more work to customize the Screen. But once I'm done, you just Click the Done Button in the bottom left of the Screen. before migrating to 3.1 You'll want to make sure that you export any layers from your test database. To do so, you'll select touchscreen area one, Click export in the bottom left, you will select the layers you want to export. So if I select a few of these, you will name that file and then Click Export. These items will be in your documents center. So if I navigate to the menu Button in the upper left, and Type in document, I will want to open up the document center. From here if you change the document Type to export files. I will see my touch layers that I just exported. Click the Open Button in the bottom left and save these locally. It's important that you make sure to export your touch layers before the live migration. It makes sure to inform your consultant that you are exporting touch layers and want to import them after the live migration

Welcome to part three of the 3.1 touch Point Of Sale migration videos. Now that you have your touch screens customized, you're gonna want to look at the touch profiles and how to link them. If you navigate to the menu Button and Type in Profile assignments on the left hand side, we'll see the different available profiles. If you scroll down to Touch POS, you will see the different touch profiles available to you. This may vary depending on your organization's setup. For example, you may have different touch file profiles for your front desk concessions, and Senior Center. If you select one of the touch profiles and Click update we will see there are seven different columns. These columns correspond to the touch Tabs we looked at in part two of your Touch POS video. Each of these columns has two parts, the main layer and the fixed layer. The main layer is the first layer you'll see when you open the touchscreen. The fixed layer will not change even when switching between layers. This is often your keypad where you select what tender your patroness pane or maybe a pop drawer Button. Once you have your main layer selected, and your fixed layer selected, you'll want to Click Save in the bottom left. Now that you have your touch Profile set up, you'll need to drag it to the middle column. The touch layer is typically linked to the workstation or the site level. Please know that the Profile changes you're making in your test database, do not transfer during the live migration. Make sure you document any changes you want to keep and communicate this to your consultant. We hope these videos helped answer some of your questions about how touchscreens work and 3.1. We look forward to working with you in your migration to 3.1.
