The Key Update screen allows you to add or update Key Codes. Key Code Management allows you to keep track of physical Keys that are used Department. Each record can contain the Key Code, Description, Asset Type to which it belongs, Staff Member to whom it is assigned and more.
Note: Field names on the screen with red labels* are required by the screen design you are using. Mandatory fields in the default Vermont Systems design are noted where appropriate. Your design and mandatory fields may vary.
From the bottom of the screen…
Click Save to save changes. You will return to the previous screen.
Click Cancel to return to the previous screen without saving changes.

Keys Code (MTKEYS_KeysCode)
If you are creating a new Key, then enter your Key Code in this field. Codes may be alpha and/or numeric. For Example: Master LK 401. This is a mandatory field for the standard VSI Design. Your Design may vary.
If you are updating an existing Key Code then you will not visit this field.
DeleteRecord Status (MTKEYS_RecordStatus)
Expand the Drop-down list to select the Status that best matches the current disposition of this Key.
- Stored - The Key is currently in storage and is not being used.
- Assigned - The Key is assigned to an Employee or is available in an area accessible by multiple employees.
- Lost - The Key has been reported as Lost" and its whereabouts are unknown.
- Default - For future use.
Description (MTKEYS_Description)
Enter a Description for this Key. For Example: Master Lock #401.
DeleteSerial Number (MTKEYS_SerialNumber)
Enter the Serial Number (or the identifying number) for this Key.
DeleteLock Core Code (MTKEYS_LockCoreCode)
Enter the Lock Core Code for the lock(s) this key will open. Lock cores are specific to each manufacturer and lock numbers. They can be keyed alike" or "keyed differently."
- Keyed alike means that the locks will all operate using the same key. These lock cores have the same manufacturer and lock code.
- Keyed differently means the locks will operate using different keys.
Spare Location (MTKEYS_SpareLocation)
Enter the location where the spare(s) for this key is stored, if any.
DeleteStaff Code (MTKEYS_StaffCode)
This field is applicable only if the Key has been issued to a Staff Member.
Click the Picklist icon and select the Staff Member to whom this key has been issued.
Delete
