The Material Link Update screen allows you to Add or Change Parts to the Facility Code/Equipment Code with which you are working. Linked Parts can be used in two (2) ways:
- When you add this Fixed Asset Code to a Work Order, you can include the list of linked parts by selecting the Parts List option on the Work Order Print - Details screen.
- When you create a Log using this Fixed Asset, you can view the list of linked parts by clicking the Link button in the Stock Room section and choose which part you want to include in the Material field.
Additionaly, you can link Task Codes to Parts. When the Task is completed/logged, you can have the system subtract the material units used from your inventory of those parts, if applicble.

DeleteLinked Task (MTMATERIALLINK_TaskCodeList)
Click the Picklist icon to select a Task Code, if desired. If you link a Task to this Part, then when that Task is logged, the system will automatically deduct the material usage from inventory for this Part.
For Example: The Fixed Asset is a Truck (Equipment). The Linked Task might be an Oil Change, and the Parts List would include a Material Link entry for the type of oil being used and the number of quarts. It would also include a Material Link entry for the type of oil filter needed. Optionally the Fixed Asset might be a Baseball Field (Facility), and the Linked Task is field prep. The Parts List would include Material Links for chalk and paint with their respective quantities. Once these Tasks are logged, the quantity of materials used will be subtracted from inventory.
Leave this field blank if there are no inventory-related Tasks for this Material Part.
Note: If opting to use this feature be certain to set the Linked Materials option on your Combination Log profile to either "Log Defaults" or "Prompt."
