How to embed an Unsubscribe Link in Emails sent from RecTrac 3.1
Problem
Is it possible to include an 'Unsubscribe' link in emails sent from RecTrac?
Solution
Yes. To accomplish this:
1. Go to your Email Profile and ensure the Use HTML Email Body option is enabled. THEN enter '{UNSUBSCRIBE_LINK}' anywhere in the HTML Email Body field. The link will appear where you place the text. If you prefer, the unsubscribe link can be added to your Email Signature block rather than the HTML Email Body. Refer to the attached image for an example, if necessary.
2. Save your changes. Repeat Step 1 for additional Email profiles, if any OR exit back to the main menu.
3. Go to Interface Parameters Management WebTrac Interface Parameter record and ensure the Is this the Default Parameter for this Interface Type? option is enabled/selected.
4. Save your changes and exit back to the main menu.
5. Changes take effect going forward. The next time you send an email from RecTrac, the patrons receiving your email will see a click-able 'Unsubscribe' link. Upon clicking the link, the patron will be taken to WebTrac where they will be presented with the option to unsubscribe (opt-out) of future communications. Completing the process results in the Opt-In status on the email address in RecTrac being updated.
Note: When processing marketing emails via RecConnect, be sure to check that you have not enabled the “Include Email Addresses that have opted out of marketing emails.”
