In this video, we'll review the topic of minimum payment amounts and the settings that control it. So to start out, we're going to open up global sales and walk through an example, enrollment, I'm gonna highlight the family I want to work with. In this example, we'll be doing an Activity Registration. But the same setup in process would apply to all modules and RecTrac. highlight a section one enrolled into the family member, I want to enroll and add to cart, I'm presented with two optional questions and a ticket reminder message for this activity, I'm just gonna hit continue through that. And the activity with the $50 fee drops into my shopping cart, I'm gonna advance to the payment Screen. And on the payment Screen, it defaults in the full amount of $50, assuming I want to make a full payment. But let's just switch that to a partial payment. Let's say we want to pay $25 of the 50. And we'll say we want to pay with cash. And I'm just going to try to hit process at the bottom.

So in this example, I'm presented with an Information box and the minimum amount due has not been paid for the following items and it lists the activity that is in my shopping cart. So are you sure you want to continue? So in this case, I have the option to hit No, if I made a mistake or want to change something, the option yes is actually grayed out, and there's a padlock listed here. So that means I don't have rights to override this. And if I was to Click on the padlock, another user in the database that does have rights would have the opportunity to put in their credentials and override this restriction. So I'm gonna hit cancel here. And I'm gonna go back a Screen. So I'm gonna say no, I don't want to continue. So at this point, I could make the correction if I needed to make a full payment, or whatever the scenario calls for. But what controls this, and why am I running into that message to begin with. So let's actually switch over to the activity section that I'm trying to enroll into. So let's switch over to my other panel that I've opened.

And again, my fees are linked to the section level. So I'm on my section, I'm gonna jump the fees tab. And there's my $50 fee that I'm just going to hit change on. And for every fee in the database there is two Field a two Field setting for minimum payment set settings, the pay minimum payment amount, which could be a flat amount or a percentage. And that works with the minimum payment option pulldown. So in this case, I'm set for this $50 fee to require 100%. And that is going to apply to all interfaces. So that applies to RecTrac and WebTrac. And that's why I'm running into that message right now is because the full payment is required based on the fee setup. And I'm trying to make a partial payment. In this pulldown, this could be a RecTrac only setting, this could be a WebTrac only setting, I think by default, it might default to WebTrac. Only assuming that most fees that are incurred on the web are going to be require full payment. So that is a different default and most Screen designs.

But I'll switch it back to all interfaces. So this is what's controlling that setting. And with that, I'm actually hit save on this again, it works in conjunction with your payment Profile. So let's switch over to Profile assignments. I'm gonna open up that payment Profile that I'm linked to. And under the core settings two, you'll see an override minimum amount due for and this is a module selection list. So this is why I'm running into the padlock scenario where I can override that setting. And that's because nothing is selected here. So I'm not allowed based on my payment Profile that I'm linked to, to override any minimum amount settings. This can be controlled by module so I could turn it on for certain modules, I can turn on across the board, if I want everybody to have access to be able to override that depends on what the scenario calls for. If I do turn everything on and hit save, and go back to global sales where we left off.

Again, that $25 is still in my distribution here. If I go to hit process, I actually get the same message. But you'll notice now the padlock is gone. So it really is just a warning message right now saying hey, you are running to the setting that we have on the fee setup. And what do you want to do and you actually have the option to continue through now based on those payment override settings. So the settings for themselves on the fee, work in conjunction with the payment Profile and whether you're able to override those or not. So you can make the determination of what you want to set things for and ultimately who can override them. And that is a walkthrough of minimum payment settings and what controls them in RecTrac.
