How to navigate Transaction Update and issue a Payment Reversal

In this fasttrac video, we will cover using the transaction update program to correct paycode selections, correct payment amount information, back out an incorrect payment or converting a refund finance to refund apply to create a household credit. To use the transaction update, you will need to have access to the transaction update program access to all necessary pay codes, the receipt or household number and Transaction Date of problem transactions and the knowledge of what needs to be done to correct the transaction. In the menu, start to Type in transaction and select transaction update. Enter the receipt number in question or use the search fields below and Click reverse receipt payments. Once the right hand side of the Screen has populated you'll see a listing of all the previous payments on this receipt and below that the options you have available to change including the ability to log as bad payment and restricting household from using this pay code in the future. Once you've selected the payment make any changes you wish and then Click either reverse or reverse and payment. The reverse Button will back out the payment entirely and make the system reapply the balance to the household isn't amount due. Once you Click reverse, you'll see the new receipt with the balance due and you have finished this update. Reverse and payment will back out the original payment and then bring you directly to global sales with the balance in the shopping cart ready for an immediate new payment proceed as normal through the payment process and you're done. Note if the original receipt number was a refund finance than either the reverse or the reverse and payment Button will convert the refund finance to a refund apply giving the household a credit from that point so you can use the balance to do whatever you wish.
