Let's review what a typical report Screen looks like. And I'll be using the GL distribution report for this example. Again, you have the option of launching it directly from the menu, or launching one of the outputs from output listing. I've already opened up my screens, I'll Click on that on the left here. And the typical report Screen breaks down, typically with a primary data grid filter on the left. So in the case of the GL report to listing of users, and on the right hand side, there's usually the corresponding range for that same filter. So you have the ability to choose individual users, I can highlight one or more in this list. And I could run this report just for those selections. Or I could choose to use the range on the right. And when I turn on the Toggle on the right, it would activate the range fields. And a beginning and ending Field for Username is displayed. Blank through ZZZ translates into all users. Further down on the report, Screen on the right hand side, you're typically going to have filters, depending on the report Screen that you are viewing. On the GL report, another primary filter that was typically used would be the posting date. So that Toggle is typically on by default. And you'd have the ability to pick and choose what beginning through ending date that you want to run this report for. With any report in RecTrac, the fewer filters you pick, the better. And I always like to kind of state it in a sentence before I run the report. So the filters that I have turned on right now, use user range is wide open. So it's all users for a wide open date range. And we could set this to maybe a more dynamic setting up today. So all users for today. And if that's all I'm looking for, if I'm looking to roll up my GL or my cash journal for all users, then this is the only filters I would need. You can always continue on with adding additional filters. So if I wanted all users for today, for a particular location, then I might activate the cash drawer range, and input the drawer location range that I need to narrow the results further. On the bottom part of the Screen, for every report, you'll have a listing of outputs. Now they are grouped together in many cases. But this is a list of all the different outputs that are currently available for the GL distribution report. So you'll notice my cash journal is in here, but it's also my standard GL report is in here. So if I was looking to run a standard cash journal, I could make that selection in the bottom left. To the right, I would again have the ability to choose detail or summary depending on my needs. Once that selection is made, on the right hand side, I can choose process. And on most reports, the process Screen will display the file format. So whether you want a PDF or CSV, and you'd also have the options to choose Print, preview or email. Certain reports like the cash journal will potentially give you additional filters or options. So in this case, I can choose to print a balance sheet or not use a balance sheet to print the Pay Code or the Pay Code description along with several other options, and anytime you run a report, you have the option to schedule it or hit continue. And you'll always receive this message stating that it's been sent to the server. And you can close out of that. And when the report is complete, it'll return the results based on your selection. So I chose to preview and this is what displayed my case I didn't have any transactions process for today. So I actually ended up getting a blank report but hopefully that highlights the process for run Reports in 3.1
