In this video, we'll walk through the process for sending out push notifications through a RecTrac RecConnect. There are two options for sending out push notifications. You can send them directly from the WebTrac app cockpit or you can send them through a RecTrac. RecConnect in this video will focus on the RecConnect option starting out here in the WebTrac app cockpit.
00:00:25:25 - 00:00:48:00
Brian Hatch
I'm logged in in our test account and I'm under marketing automation in the bottom left. And again, this is where you would send them directly from the cockpit. But the first step in any push notification scenario is you need a conversation records. We're going to click on the tab at the top for conversations. And I don't currently have a conversation record, so that'll be our first step here.
00:00:48:02 - 00:01:15:21
Brian Hatch
Select Create conversation and and what's called announcements and then general announcements. And then any conversation record you create will require an image. All browse out can select an existing image or you can upload a new image that will represent your conversation. And then just like to see changes. And now I have a conversation record that I can send messages to.
00:01:15:21 - 00:01:35:14
Brian Hatch
So this will show up. If I go back, open up my app here on the right hand side and click on notification Icon on the top right, You can see that my container for conversations is now there. And again, you can have as many, many of these as you need or want for classifying different messages that you send out to your app users.
00:01:35:16 - 00:01:58:12
Brian Hatch
So now that I have a conversation record, the next option, which is optional, which is message templates. So if you're going to be sending out a reconnect push notification, you have the option of using templates. So I've got three different examples in here just to highlight what we could do with templates. And I'm going to say edit here on one of these options.
00:01:58:15 - 00:02:22:27
Brian Hatch
So I've titled these for the actual elements that are on the screen. So a title body and an image for registration. I have the title here body and there's my image. So just kind of line those up with the elements here. And on my title, I've actually used the merge field here and so let's fill in the title from the RecTrac RecConnect.
00:02:22:29 - 00:02:42:19
Brian Hatch
And the same thing on the body. I've just chose them. The merge field and service put in the body here from the RecTrac RecConnect. And then I've got the image size here. If you choose to do an image as part of your notification. So I've got one template set up specific for registrations. I've got one here for renewal.
00:02:42:19 - 00:03:06:13
Brian Hatch
So if I click on edit their similar layout, I've got my title Body Image with an action, so title, body image and a snare. I actually have an action item at the bottom, so that will be representing when they click on this option, it'll bring them to a module for pattern renewals. So a slightly different template that I'll use for renewal notifications.
00:03:06:16 - 00:03:33:26
Brian Hatch
So I’ll hit cancel on that. And then I have a simpler option here with just a title and roll action that we can walk through an example with. So I've created my conversation records and my message template. Should I choose to use those, I can now move over to my RecTrac database. So click on that and the first thing we need to do if we created any new conversations or templates, as we do need to go to a profile assignment and just sync those up with a track database.
00:03:33:26 - 00:04:01:21
Brian Hatch
So we've got a profile assignment, click on static parameters at the bottom and we have third party integrations at the top, and this is where you can choose your WebTrac app sync option. So if you click authenticate and fetch conversation, that'll go out. Check the cockpit for what you currently have for those two options. And you can see I've made one announcements that it was able to sync up here.
00:04:01:24 - 00:04:21:19
Brian Hatch
So see, now that that's done, I can now go run a rack, connect for whatever purpose I'm running it for. So one example, just to highlight the different RecConnect options that are available, I'm going to go to report output listing and this is filtered down to everything that is a RecConnect. So we have a lot of different output options that are available.
00:04:21:21 - 00:04:39:01
Brian Hatch
For example, you might run a RecConnect for a particular roster or groups of rosters that you want to send specific communication out to. You might want to send one out to a group of reservations maybe that are taking place at a certain location or a certain date and time that you want to communicate a message to another property.
00:04:39:01 - 00:05:06:27
Brian Hatch
One might be for memberships or pass, RecConnect where you might want to communicate to everybody with a certain membership type or and a very popular example, expiring memberships for maybe any membership types that may be an example of a pass RecConnect. For testing purposes. I'm actually going to go down under system and miscellaneous and I'm going to select the SA Person RecConnect option and I will say run report from the screen and just continue through the pop up.
00:05:06:29 - 00:05:27:08
Brian Hatch
This will give me the ability and the flexibility to just pick individual accounts that maybe I want to do some testing with initially for my push notifications. So I'm already filtering on the left hand side. I've done some filtering for just my household or test household in this database. I've got two different family members selected to highlight this process.
00:05:27:10 - 00:05:49:24
Brian Hatch
And then on the right-hand side, you could choose additional filters and different times at the top. Right now I'm literally just interested in picking a couple of family member records that I can ultimately do some testing with at the bottom. It should already be on RecConnect and you can just set process on the bottom of the screen and on this screen you can continue right now to continue through the process.
00:05:49:24 - 00:06:06:16
Brian Hatch
This is also where you choose schedule. So if you're doing this for a purpose of setting up a daily, weekly or monthly process that you want to happen automatically, you'll be able to schedule on the screen and I'll walk you through the same process that we'll do here on demand. So I'll continue this, will treat it like a RecTrac report.
00:06:06:16 - 00:06:31:05
Brian Hatch
So it's actually I send that request out. That's the different records, but I look into the criteria on the screen for so you should have two family member records that it's able to find and then it'll show us the results once those are available. So there's my notification. I'll just select show results. And similar to the previous screen, I've got my two results on the left hand side and my options on the right.
00:06:31:07 - 00:06:55:29
Brian Hatch
So the first thing we want to highlight is that not everyone in your selection will likely be an app user or might not be an app user. So if I scrolled to the right in this data grid, we have a column in here for WebTrac app user. So you can see in here we're able to determine right now whether the people in your rec connect that you've run are either have the app and are logged in or have not.
00:06:55:29 - 00:07:17:17
Brian Hatch
So you see in this example, I've got one family member that does have the app and one that does not. So that gives me the ability to now decide for whatever communication I'm sending out by sending out multiple, multiple options to my sending up push notifications and emails and one will get one and one will get both or my running this maybe twice once.
00:07:17:17 - 00:07:38:24
Brian Hatch
For people that do have the app with a message and maybe a separate one with an email for the people that don't have the app save a lot of flexibility and maybe how you communicate to your patrons depending on again, your your app usage. So that flag is available to keep off of and filter off of. I'm going to leave that deselected and just serve my two family members on the left hand side.
00:07:38:26 - 00:07:58:29
Brian Hatch
Since I only have WebTrac App push notifications selected as automatically only to be able to send the people with the app, so it'll only send it to Tim. In this example, I can now expand my WebTrac app, push notification options at the bottom, and we have a few different options here. The first one being the push notification process option.
00:07:59:02 - 00:08:21:29
Brian Hatch
So there are two options here. Once for dumping out a CSV file. So you can basically use this process to export a CSV file that you can then in a second step, go into the cockpit and choose the upload option to create the message separately through the cockpit using those records. In this example, we're going to use the process push notifications and do that kind of automatically through the RecConnect options here.
00:08:22:02 - 00:08:41:05
Brian Hatch
The next step is choosing a conversation. So it's looking back at your conversation records from the cockpit that you've set up, which in our example, we only have the one so I’ll select that. And then it's going to, again, looking back in the cockpit, choose or show you any templates that you currently have available. And our first example, we're actually going to skip the templates and just do the free form.
00:08:41:05 - 00:09:11:27
Brian Hatch
So this isn't a template from the cockpit, This is just a free form template that's going to use our title and our notification body here at the bottom. So if we wanted to do an example of summer camp registration and then maybe we want to do a option of just letting him know Summer camp registration is beginning, you have the option in your either your your email or your notification.
00:09:11:27 - 00:09:39:14
Brian Hatch
Body so in this example to merge in other fields from the database. So in this case you can personalize it and actually communicate out a first or last name depending on your scenario. There's a lot of different tags in here. If you want to include an expiration date on a and a membership, a membership notification that you're sending out or any other details associated with any of the module items, you can kind of review this as tagged list and actually fill in a lot of fields that help make it a little bit more personalized.
00:09:39:17 - 00:10:06:05
Brian Hatch
And this example, we're just going to send out a free form notification with a title and a body on the left hand side set to all records by default, which again in our example is really just the two family members and the one that's actually going to receive it within the app. So that process and that will send out that communication and then usually within a few seconds you'll see the communication hit the notification center.
00:10:06:08 - 00:10:29:08
Brian Hatch
So I'm going to click on the notification icon here and there's our conversation record. I'm want to open that up. And you can see there's our message that we just sent out through the RecConnect. So again, matching up our fields here, there's our title, Summer camp registration, and then our personalized message. So it's communicating specifically to me or the person in the test to your high team.
00:10:29:11 - 00:10:49:19
Brian Hatch
And then it's just telling me the text of summer camp registration begins tomorrow. So very simple example using a free form template. But again, you might do other options where you want to use those images and those action items from a cockpit template. So I'm going to click on this list here and we have our different options available.
00:10:49:22 - 00:11:27:12
Brian Hatch
So let's click on one of our templates here with the title Body Image for registration. So registration is coming up again, we can customize our notification body for whatever the needs are, and I'm going to go ahead and set process, RecConnect again with our same team and play here and go back on screen. And there's our new notification.
00:11:27:15 - 00:11:49:05
Brian Hatch
So you can see here very similar and that the title is still displaying, the body is still displaying, and now we just have our image from our template that's automatically getting filled in. So dressed up a little bit with an image. And I can see that here on the screen. And then just to do one more example, maybe one do with one with pass pass renewal.
00:11:49:05 - 00:12:33:13
Brian Hatch
So it's always going to be a popular one again, it can be personalized. Maybe you actually put in the actual expiration date. So I'm putting in a tag here. Give me a little bit more specific and pertinent for the the notification I'm sending out. So I'm using my template actually has the built in action for pass renewals and I'll just hit process on this option.
00:12:33:16 - 00:12:53:01
Brian Hatch
So we'll have a third notification coming through. I'm doing this all from a family member person reconnect again, just makes it really simple for testing. But ultimately you'd be using different reconnect programs for each one of these uses, right? One might be for a general person RecConnect or you just want to communicate Anybody with the WebTrac app.
00:12:53:01 - 00:13:12:10
Brian Hatch
Another one might be specific to again, membership. So you use a pass RecConnect and then other ones might be specific to activity where you use an activity RecConnect. But you can see now I have my my third piece of communication. Now under these this conversation of announcements again title, I've now made it specific which I might not have a membership.
00:13:12:10 - 00:13:30:00
Brian Hatch
So my expiration date would display there if I had one linked to my family member and the communication and I've got my image specific to the renewal. So again, that's just pulling in from my template from the cockpit. And again, what makes this a little bit more specific is this one actually has an action item associated with it.
00:13:30:00 - 00:13:51:26
Brian Hatch
So my renew now option that I were to click on, it'll bring me to the renewal screen within the app. So I've now got three separate RecConnect communications that I've sent out with the slightly different styles and and templates included in those. And that is the walkthrough of how to send out RecTrac push notifications from a RecTrac, RecConnect.
