Unable to Pay for Item with Gift Card

Problem
When processing a sale with a gift card from Global Sales, staff are unable to process it, and are presented with the following alert message:
Error Message
"You cannot pay for any of the items in your cart with the selected payment method. What would you like to do?"
Solution
Be sure the Gift Certificate is set as an allowed payment option in your linked Payment Profile. Under the Pay Code Restrictions group, be sure the Gift Certificate pay code is listed in the Allowed Pay Codes Field.
After verifying the above, go to the fee of the item that produces an error when redeeming the gift card. Ensure that the gift card or a wildcard(*) is listed in the Gift Certificates list field.
Steps For Solution
To update the Payment Profile to Allow Gift Certificates:- From your RecTrac main menu, navigate to Profile Assignments.
- Select your linked Payment Profile.
- Click Update.
- Expand the Pay Code Restrictions settings group.
- Click the pick list icon next to the Allowed Pay Codes field.
- Highlight your gift certificate pay code in the DataGrid.
- Click Select.
- Click Save to save the profile.
- Go to the Item that produces an error when attempting a purchase with a gift card.
- For Example: For an Inventory Item:
- Go to Inventory Management.
- Select the relevant item from the DataGrid.
- Click Update.
- On the Fees tab, select the fee from the DataGrid.
- Click Change > Select Advanced Fee Change.
- For Example: For an Inventory Item:
- Expand the Payment Settings group.
- Click the pick list icon next to the Gift Certificate List field.
- Highlight the gift certificate used during the failed transaction in the DataGrid
- Alternatively use * as a wildcard, to allow all gift certificates to be used for this fee.
- Click Select.
- Click Save to save the fee.
- Click Save to save the item.
Attempt the gift card transaction again in Global Sales.
