Finger Vein Scanner not working
RecTrac 3.1.10.18.00

Problem
I have tried multiple troubleshooting steps to resolve a non-working finger vein scanner.
- I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers.
- I've deleted the Phidget Registry Key and re-added it.
- I've removed and added back the Access Relay profiles.
- I've re-imaged the pc, reinstalled all the drivers, and created the registry key.
Despite the above troubleshooting steps taken, the finger vein is still not working. It just stays green and doesn't even read fingers when placed on it.
What I've noticed is that this happens when VIC gets stuck on loading the M2Sys dll file. It can take anywhere from 5 to 45 minutes for VIC to get past this when the system is booted up. When VIC gets stuck loading this dll, the finger vein just stays green and doesn't read fingers.
Solution
Check the Phidget Control Panel in Windows to see what version of the driver you have installed. If you have Phidget22 installed, uninstall it, and then install Phidget21. This is due to the current Phidget22 driver which does not work with RecTrac. Once Phidget21 is installed, it should start working.
Steps For Solution
- Go to Phidget Control Panel in Windows.
- Check to see what version of the Phidget Driver you have installed.
- If you have Phidget22 installed, uninstall it.
- Install Phidget21.
- You can find the driver on Phidget's Support Site.
Your finger vein scanner should now work with RecTrac again.
