Problem
We just configured a new workstation and our Honeywell Barcode Scanner does not work. How can we get back up and running?
Solution
You will need to make sure the COM Port in the Input Profile is the same as the COM Port in the Device Manager.
Steps For Solution
To identify the currently assigned COM Port:
- Go to Device Manager in Windows.
- Expand Ports
- Locate the Honeywell Scanner and mark down is assigned COM port.
To update the COM Port within RecTrac:
- From the RecTrac main menu go to Profile Assignments.
- Locate and highlight the Input Profile linked to the workstation.
- Click Update.
- Update the COM Port to the one identified above.
- Click Save.
Open Visit Processing and test scan. Your scanner should now be properly communicating with RecTrac.
