Problem
How are datagrids different than the way data was displayed in RecTrac 10.3 and prior releases?
Solution
In RecTrac 10.3 and prior, database records were displayed in what we called a data browser. Datagrids are a more flexible and powerful way to display data throughout RecTrac 3.1. Here is a list of some of their functionality:
Search First
Sorting
Filtering
Inline Editing
Options Menu
--Clear Filters
--Show/Hide Filters
--Show Only Selected/Show All
--Clear Selected
--Select All Rows
--Toggle Groups
--Export Comma Delimited
--Export Tab Delimited
--Export Pipe Delimited
--Print Friendly Table
--Show Settings
--Column Visible
--Column Edit
--Column Group
--Column Lock
--Load Template
--Delete Template
--Save Template
--Set Default Template
Refresh button
Double-clicking on a datagrid record will select that record. Depending on whether the datagrid is a picklist or not, the select may also open File Maintenance for that record. For example if you open Facility Location Management and double click a record in the datagrid, you will go to the update screen for that record. But if you go into Facility Maintenance and invoke the Facility Location picklist datagrid and double-click a record it will select that record and return you to the Facility Maintenance form.
