Problem
We have a user to whom we want to limit their access to only a specific program.
Solution
This will be a 3 part process in the following areas System Code Management, Menu Management, and Profile Assignments. You will have to add a new custom menu design code and profile for this user and assign them the new Menu Profile.
Steps For Solution
- From the RecTrac main menu, go to System Code Management.
- Click Add.
- Enter a Record Code to define the new limited menu.
- Set Type to Menu Design and fill in a Description.
- Click Save.
- From the RecTrac main menu, go to Menu Management.
- Click Add.
- Set the Base Screen to Rectrac Menu Defaults.
- Toggle on Use Base Screen Title.
- Select the Design Code you created above.
- Click Continue.
- Expand the Fields On Screen column using the arrow at the top.
- Locate the program(s) you wish to keep.
- Optionally, you can have this program auto-launch on login for this user by:
- Highlight the program.
- Using the in-line edit next to Auto-Open, enable this parameter.
- Click the in-line edit icon again to save.
- Drag and drop all other folders/groups/buttons off the Fields On Screen column to the Available Fields column.
- Click Done.
To create a Menu Profile and link it to the user:
- From the RecTrac main menu, go to Profile Assignments.
- Expand the User folder and locate the intern's user.
- Click Add.
- Set the Profile Type to Menu Design.
- Set the Profile Code to indicate this is for the Limited Users.
- Click Create.
- Click the Plus(+) next to the Design code you created in part 1.
- Click Save.
- Drag and drop the Menu Design profile to the user.
Log in as this user and verify your limited menu is configured correctly.
