UPC codes do not prompt for modifiers

Problem
We have modifiers set up for an item but when we scan the UPC Code for the item the modifiers are not displaying.
Solution
When choosing to use modifiers, they need to be linked to a touch tree button type. If electing to use UPCs, the act of scanning will not trigger a modifier touch tree instead, using a button with a touch tree type is the only way to prompt that automated modifier process.
Note:
This article assumes you have a Touch Tree system code created, and the Touch Tree layers have been configured in Touch Screen Management.
Steps For Solution
- From the RecTrac main menu, go to Touch Screen Management.
- Highlight the layer that contains the purchase button.
- Click to highlight the first modifier button.
- Right-click the button and select Change this button.
- Click the Touch Tree Group Picklist and link the Touch Tree Group containing the appropriate modifier choices.
- Click Save.
- Repeat steps 3 - 6 for each modifier button.
- Click Done to save the Touch Screen changes.
- Click Publish Now.
Close and relaunch Touch POS and verify your Touch Tree Group buttons are working properly. Remind RecTrac Staff who use this Touch Screen that they can continue to scan the UPC to sell the item alone, however, if they would like to prompt for modifiers they will need to interact with your newly configured modifier buttons.
