Find First/Last failed for table (565) error when trying to save changes in 3.1 Member Update
Problem
RecTrac 3.1. Household Management - Changing the First or Last Name of FM #1 in Member Update results in a 'FIND FIRST/LAST failed for table (565) error.
Whether you create a new household or use an existing household, when we try to change the first/last name in the first family member and then click 'Save,' and then click 'Household' to return to the main HH screen, we get this error.
Solution
This is likely because you have Duplicate Checking on for 'Family Member Name/Birthday' AND the first thing you're doing after changing the name is clicking 'Save' or 'Household.'
So, behind the scenes the system is running a SAVE and an 'on change event' at the same time. The Name (First and Last) of the HH must match the Primary Guardian's name as well, so that is why this error occurs.
Programmatically speaking, there is nothing currently to be done about this. Therefore your work around options are:
1. TAB out of the name/address/email fields before clicking 'Save.'
OR
2. Change your Family Member duplicate check option to 'Email Address.' Duplicate Check options are maintained on in the Duplicate Check Settings group of your Household profile.
