3.1 Exchange 2016 or 2019 getting 5.7.54 SMTP Error with Anonymous Relay
Problem
After setting up an Anonymous Relay connector in Exchange for the RecTrac server, we are still unable to send emails to outside email domains. This was in the socketemail.log: "550 5.7.54 SMTP; Unable to relay recipient in non-accepted domain."
Solution
Create a dedicated Receive connector for anonymous relay
- Go to Exchange Admin Console .
- Go to Mail Flow Receive Connectors .
- Update Relay created for RecTrac.
-
In the properties of the connector, click Security and make the following selections:
- Authentication: Deselect Transport Layer Security (TLS) and select Externally secured (For example, with IPsec).
- Permission groups: Select Exchange servers and Anonymous.
