What Program Will This Device Be Used In? (SAProfileDetails_SerialProcessingUse)
Expand the Drop-down list and select the RecTrac Program that will be called when cards are swiped/entered using this profile (and its associated hardware). All card swipes through this profile will be directed toward the program you choose here.
- RecTrac Focus Field - Household/Family Member lookup screens. Cards swiped through this profile will result in a Household and/or Family Member lookup, either in Global Sales, SupoerGrid, in Household Management/Inquiry, etc… .
- Visit Processing - This profile will be used to run your Visit Processing programs. Cards swiped through this profile will be result in a visit being processed.
Note: If running Background Visit Processing via this profile your selection here MUST be Visit Processing.
COM Port (SAProfileDetails_SerialCOMPort)
Select the COM port the hardware is using. Depending on the hardware you're using, this can be a physical COM port or a virtual one.
DeleteBaud Rate (SAProfileDetails_SerialBaud)
Accept the default entry (9600) or select the Baud Rate for the hardware you're using.
DeleteParity (SAProfileDetails_SerialParity)
Accept the default entry (None) or select the Parity for the hardware you're using.
DeleteWord Length (SAProfileDetails_SerialWordLength)
Accept the default entry (Eight) or select the Word Length for the hardware you're using.
DeleteStop Bits (SAProfileDetails_SerialStopBits)
Accept the default entry (One) select the Stop Bits for the hardware you're using.
DeleteSwipe Preamble (SAProfileDetails_SerialPreamble)
Enter a preamble, if desired. A preamble is a keyboard character inserted automatically prior to the first character on the card's barcode to allow the profile to determine when parsing begins. Typically, this entry is the percent sign (%), but you can enter any character that the RS232 device supports as a preamble.
DeleteSwipe Postamble (SAProfileDetails_SerialPostAmble)
Accept the default entry (None) or select the Swipe Postamble. The postamble is a keyboard function inserted automatically after to the last character on the card's barcode to allow the profile to determine when parsing stops. Your options are:
- None - No keyboard function. The last character is simply the last character.
- CR - A Carriage Return (i.e. a press of the <Enter> key). The system inserts an automatic return after the last character of the card.
- ; - A Semi-colon. The inserts a semi-colon (;) after the last character of the card.
Strip Preamble from Swipe? (SAProfileDetails_SerialStripPreamble)
Select this option if you do not want to use the Swipe Preamble as part of the swipe input.
DeleteStrip Postamble from Swipe (SAProfileDetails_SerialStripPostamble)
Select this option if you do not want to use the Swipe Postamble as part of the swipe input.
DeleteMin Swipe Length (SAProfileDetails_SerialMinLength)
Accept the default entry (1) or overwrite with another value as needed. The value you enter is the minimum number characters required by the system to be considered a valid swipe. Card swipes resulting in a number of characters fewer than the value entered here will be returned as invalid automatically since they fail to meet the minimum threshold.
Generally speaking, this value should be equal to the shortest number of characters you use for identification of your households/family members. For example, if using key fobs as a Cross Reference Number and some of your key fobs contain five (5) characters while other key fobs contain six (6) characters, you would enter '5' in this field.
DeleteMax Swipe Length (SAProfileDetails_SerialMaxLength)
Accept the default entry (32000) or overwrite with another value as needed. The value you enter is the maximum number characters allowed by the system to be considered a valid swipe. Card swipes resulting in a number of characters greater than the value entered here will be returned as invalid automatically since they exceed the maximum value threshold.
Generally speaking, this value should be equal to the greatest number of characters you use for identification of your households/family members. For example, if using Household ID and Lost Cards in your pass barcodes, you might consider a value of '11' in this field to account for household IDs up to 9-digits in length plus two digits for Lost Card logic.
DeleteHardware CTL (SAProfileDetails_SerialHardwareCTL)
Select whether you wish to Enable or Disable Hardware Control (CTL). Hardware CTL is often referred to as Handshaking."
Note: If running Background Visit Processing via this profile your selection here must be Disable.
