Problem
I want to prevent certain patrons and/or households from being able to reserve any facilities and remind our clerks to not reserve to those banned households.
Solution
You can create a household tickler for the problem household and set up a banned household feature system code in conjunction with a facility module rule to disallow purchases.
Steps For Solution
To create or link a Tickler:
- From the RecTrac main menu, go to the Household Management.
- Highlight the household in question from the DataGrid
- Click Change.
- Click Misc Info.
- Either manually type in the warning message in the Tickler Text.
- Or create a generic Tickler Code that can be used for multiple Households and link it in the Tickler Code field.
- Click Save
Once the tickler is in place every time this household is interacted with during daily processing, RecTrac staff will see the message.
To create the Household or Family Member Feature:
- From the RecTrac main menu, go to System Code Management.
- Click Add.
- For type, choose either Household Feature or Family Member Feature as the desired option.
- Give this record an identifiable System Code and Description (i.e Reservation Ban).
- Click Save.
To link the new Feature Code:
- From the RecTrac main menu, go to Household Management.
- Highlight the household in question from the DataGrid.
- Click Change.
- Click Misc Info.
- Link the new Household Features code in the Features field.
- If electing to do a Family Member Feature, instead click Member Details under the family member in question on the Core tab.
- Link the new Family Member Features code in the Features field.
- Click Save.
- Click Save.
To create the FR Module disallow reservations rule:
- From the RecTrac main menu, go to Module Management.
- Highlight the FR (Facility Reservations) module from the DataGrid.
- Click Change.
- Click Rules.
- Click Add > Advanced Rule Add.
- Set the Rule Option to Disallow.
- Set the Transaction Type to Purchase.
- Click Criteria.
- Select the Features option from the Other Criteria dropdown list.
- Click Add New Criteria.
- Set the Feature Type to either Family Member or Household.
- Set the Family Member Features field to the new banned system code that you created.
- Set the Match Option to Match One.
- Click Save.
Once the rule is in place the patron and or household will no longer be allowed to make facility reservations. If policy changes in the future, simply remove the feature from the family member and or household to lift the restriction.
