Problem
We are unable to reprint access tickets 7 days after they are generated. It seems they may have been purged from the database. Is there any way to extend the time access tickets are valid before they are purged?
Error Message
Unable to reprint an access ticket on the web.
Solution
The Document Purge is a custom program that automatically purges documents after a set date. By rescheduling the event to a custom purge date farther out we can allow the reprinting of tickets past 7 days.
Note:
If you have any questions about purges, please reach out to Vermont Systems Support for clarification. Once deleted these files do not come back.
Steps For Solution
To inactivate the default Document Purge event:
- From the RecTrac main menu, go to Scheduled Events Management.
- Locate and highlight the BLOB Purge - Passes Tickets Gift Certs event.
- Click Change.
- Set the event to Inactive.
- The default document purge date is Today | -7.
- Click Save.
To reschedule the Document Purge event with a custom date:
- From the RecTrac main menu, go to Document Purge.
- Determine the number of days you wish to keep Ticket documents before purging. In the example below we will be using 90 days.
- Select only Tickets as the Document Type and set Delete Documents Dated On or Before to Today | -90
Note:
Be very careful when including Document types. You will want a separate event for Tickets and the Passes and Gift Certs can be scheduled separately for the same Today | -7 value.
- Click Schedule.
- Fill out the Schedule Name of the event and set it to run once a day for several years.
- Click Save.
- Repeat steps 1-5 for Passes and Gift certificates.
Your Access Tickets will now be purged after 90 days instead of 7 days.
