10.3 and 3.1 Patrons want to use their phones instead of key fobs for scanning their Pass Visits
Problem
Our patrons would rather use their mobile phones instead of key fobs to check themselves in through our RecTrac Visit Processing System. Is there a way to scan our key fobs onto their mobile phones, and check in pass visits with their mobile phones?
Solution
VSI does not currently provide patrons with an App for storing or displaying their pass visit barcodes on their phones. However, there are a variety of free Apps already available from the Google and Apple stores that provide this capability. You can recommend patrons install one of these Apps on their phones, and give it a try at their next check in.
For Example: The Key Ring App is free and available on both Apple and Android. Key Ring provides both the capturing of physical bar codes and displaying those bar codes on mobile phones on demand. Patrons can scan their RecTrac barcode off of the physical key fob, and thereafter use the Key Ring App to display their barcode for scanning at their next visit to your Pass Visit Station. Quick and easy! Key Ring can be used for all of their key fobs with barcodes, and eliminate carrying around the many key fobs most of us have in wallets or dangling from keys.
