How to show answers to a specific question on a Roster Report?

Problem
We are trying to report on questions that have been answered by our patrons, however, there is no VSI standard roster report that includes this information. How can we run a report to see these answers for our rosters?
Solution
You will need to create a custom roster report from Report Output Management and add a SAdetail_QuestionAnswer field.
Steps For Solution
Are you reporting on a single question linked to a section or multiple questions?
- From the RecTrac main menu, go to Report Output Management.
- Highlight an existing Custom Roster Report from the DataGrid.
- Click Update Output.
- If you do not have an existing Custom Roster Report, Highlight the VSI - Activity Roster Report from the DataGrid
- Click Run Report.
- Click Add Output.
- Give your new report output a name.
- Click Continue.
- Click Column to add a new column to the Detail Fields area.
- Under Show Fields For Table, select SADetail.
- Under Available Fields find QuestionAnswer1.
- Drag and drop SADetail_QuestionAnswer1 to your newly created column in Detail Fields.
- Click the Pencil Edit Icon next to SADetail_QuestionAnswer1 to bring up Selected Field Details.
- Select the Question you would like to generate an answer for under the Single Question field.
- Optional: You can also add custom text to the Label to represent the question.
- Click Save.
- Repeat steps 4-10 as needed to add additional question answers using SADetail_QuestionAnswer(2-15).
- Save and Exit Report Output Update
Your custom report is ready to use!
Note:
For the SADetail_QuestionAnswer1 - 15 fields, you are linking a single, specific question to this report output template. If that question is not linked to the activity section you run the report for then that area on the report will be blank. If this report needs to be used for multiple sections with various questions consider setting up the output template to use the SADetail_QuestionAnswerAll field instead as it can capture any combination of questions linked to the sections you report on. Return to the beginning of this decision tree and select multiple for steps to add the SADetail_QuestionAnswerAll field.

Note:
The SADetail_QuestionAnswerAll field can be used for multiple sections with various questions as it can capture any combination of questions linked to the sections you report on instead of the specific nature of the SADetail_QuestionAnswer1 -15 fields.
