Problem
Access Control will not stay connected to VIC. Vic will be restarted and Access Control will work for a little bit, but then it will stop again.
Solution
Verify you have configured either the VIC Service or the VIC EXE for Access Control, but not both. If both have been set up you will need to remove the Registry Key for the VIC deployment you do not plan to use.
Steps For Solution
- From the Windows Start menu, search regedit.
- Click on Registry Editor.
- Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\VSI\VSI VIC.
- You should only have one Access Control Registry Key, either CommandLineArgsExe (For VIC EXE), or CommandLineArgs (For VIC Service)
- If you have both:
- Highlight the Registry Key of the VIC deployment you do not want to be running Access Control.
- Click Edit.
- Click Delete.
- If you have both:
Restart VIC and test your Access Control. The Access Control devices should now stay connected to VIC without intermittently disconnecting.
