SSL Certificate Applied to RecTrac - Camera Non-Operational in Chrome
RecTrac 3.1.09.04.02
Table of Contents
Problem
SSL certificate is applied to RecTrac but the camera is still not operational in Chrome. When running Chrome version (74.0.3729.157 (Official Build) (64-bit)) and taking a photo, RecTrac shows the red dot on the Chrome tab. We approved the use of the camera but no video displays in the browser.
Solution
Remove 4180 from the RecTrac HTTPS:// URL. Default SSL port is 443. Chrome restricts certain operations and designates the SSL as not secure if for ports other than 443.
Steps For Solution
On your RecTrac Server, make the following changes:
- Modify RecTrac binding in IIS to reflect port 443.
- Edit Config.ini file located in X:\VSI3\RecTrac\Programs.
- Remove ":4180" from any URL listed and save changes.
- Edit index.html located in X:\VSI3\RecTrac\WebServer\GUI.
- Go to Windows Start >VSI3 > DB_Utilities.
- Click Update Interface Parameters.
- Click Next.
- Click RecTrac.
- Enter the URL (less the :4180) into the "Base HREF" Field (Be sure to include "wbwsc/client.wsc/").
- Click Browse.
- Select Rectrac.db from X:\VSI3\RecTrac\Data\LIVE.
- Click Open.
- Click Process.
