In this video, we'll review the process for creating WebTrac app specific links and how they compare to WebTrac standard links for an customer that is initially launching or just needs a generic link to the WebTrac app. I'm in the cockpit currently and we have a promote button down on the bottom left of the cockpit where you can click on that and that'll give you options for the different URLs that'll be available for sharing out the app either initially when you first first launch or ultimately for any share needs that you have for the generic screen.

So if you use any of those URLs on the mobile app, you'll see that it brings you to it'll be the home screen for your account that you have set up. If they don't have the app currently, it'll queue them to download from the Apple App Store. But once they have the app, that link will bring them to the home screen.
00:00:54:06 - 00:01:18:06
Brian Hatch
They'll be able to navigate from there and that will be similar to or the equivalent to what you do on WebTrac as far as sending them to your home page or your splash page on WebTrac. Right. They start there as the initial experience and go through your navigation paths from the main splash page. So that'll be one use of sharing out a WebTrac app URL, and that's again through the promote app button on the bottom left of the cockpit.
00:01:18:09 - 00:01:38:12

But you also might want to do more specific URLs that you want to share that don't just land them on the homescreen. You might want to land them on a particular search page or some other function within the app, and that's where we use our local marketing option here on the left side of the cockpit. One example of that is typically going to be different segments of your activity searches.
00:01:38:12 - 00:02:00:21
Brian Hatch
And we have an example here at the top for our activity search. In this example, I'm bringing them directly to using this URL, the activity search page for a particular parameter, and in this example is a keyword search of camp. So it's bringing me to my summer camp results and I might want to use this URL again on WebTrac to share out and have folks find our summer camp programing within the app.
00:02:00:21 - 00:02:20:07
Brian Hatch
If I wanted to create the equivalent, I would go to local marketing and I don't have any current links created, so I'm just going to click on the Add QR code button at the top and every link you create is going to require a description. So just call this summer Camp registration. The location is always going to be blank.
00:02:20:10 - 00:02:40:00
Brian Hatch
The action is either going to be opening up a module, news article or info article. Most common is likely going to be opening an existing module and then you can select the club record underneath your account. Most accounts will only have one club, but I'll select the club that applies and that'll give you access to all modules that are currently linked to that club.
00:02:40:02 - 00:02:54:26

So these are typically going to be all the majors you've created that represent all the different buttons on the different screens of the app. So I'm going to go down and find out we have one created for summer camp. So a button that's going to go to that and that's the same place I want my URL to bring customers to.
00:02:54:28 - 00:03:22:18
Brian Hatch
So I'm just going to save on that. That'll create the record and to the right of edit, you can actually click on that button there and that will give you the options for either copying the QR code. You can save or download that with a particular format, or it can use the URL at the top that represents this code and you can share that out to customers and create as many different local marketing links as needed and that you ultimately will want to be able to then share out to again to your patrons.
00:03:22:21 - 00:03:41:07
Brian Hatch
And that will bring them directly to the program page or the activity page or whatever function it is within the app. If they're visiting it through their mobile device and they have the app, if you share out that link, it'll cue them to download as a first step if they don't have it currently and then it'll advance them to that particular screen.
00:03:41:10 - 00:04:14:08
Brian Hatch
If you visit that URL on a desktop, you'll get prompted for this download option. When you click on that, it won't really apply and there won't be an app to download. So in most scenarios, or if you're going to be sharing out any specific WebTrac links, you'll also want to share out the app links and that'll apply to, you know, the general ones for splash pages or your homescreen or any targeted ones you want to offer up both a WebTrac URL and app URL so the customer can select the one that really is going to apply for for their scenario.
00:04:14:11 - 00:04:38:25
Brian Hatch
We also wanted to highlight how we want to typically avoid using WebTrac links within the app when possible. So most switch over to my content area for our test account and we have an example highlighted here for us. Switch over to our activity screen. So I have a camp link here or camp button set up that's pointing to a web module type.
00:04:38:28 - 00:04:55:05
Brian Hatch
You could see that listed here. So this type is great for any external links external to WebTrac if you want to bring them to your city page or some other informational page. That's exactly what this type is for. What you really want to avoid is any scenario where you're linking to a standard WebTrac URL within the app.
00:04:55:05 - 00:05:16:26
Brian Hatch
So in here you can see I'm taking that same activity search page from WebTrac and I'm saying, let's create a button that points to that within the app. And just to highlight what that result says results in as far as the user experience on the right hand side, I'm going to browse to that button and I click on that same web module button here and you can see it brings me to those same search results.
00:05:16:28 - 00:05:39:24
Brian Hatch
But what that's added in is a WebTrac It's serving up the WebTrac mobile experience within the app. So it's adding in this extra header here with the WebTrac mobile menu. So actually can cause some confusion as far as my navigating through the mobile menu or through the app itself. It's also potentially going to cause some issues with log in to my logged in on mobile WebTrac versus the app itself.
00:05:39:24 - 00:05:59:10
Brian Hatch
So really want to avoid any external links to WebTrac when we're within the WebTrac app, but that is a review of sharing links through for specific WebTrac areas. WebTrac app areas versus the WebTrac standard links you would have done traditionally.
