In this video, we're going to be going over how to create facility time blocks. So we're going to be starting out by going into facility management. You can search for that in our menu. And in my example, I'm using these on my banquet hall facilities that get booked through web traffic. So I'm just going to set my type to those banquet halls so I can just see those facilities to start out.
00:00:27:29 - 00:00:48:18
So these are my three here and I'm going to click change on the first one. So think of your time blocks as a way to set certain booking parameters on web traffic. So if you want people to just reserve one hour blocks, we can create one hour time blocks. Or if we want to have a whole day block where they have to book the whole day, we can set it up like that as well.
00:00:48:18 - 00:01:11:03
So there's many different ways you can do it with having maybe different times on weekends or holidays. You can really get pretty flexible at this time. Blocks So there is a time block field on the core update screen before facility update. If we click our pick list icon, we can see what time blocks we have available. So I don't have any of my database, but whatever you create will then be listed in here.
00:01:11:03 - 00:01:35:16
So if you want to use a time block for multiple facilities, you can. But in my case, I need to add a new time. BLOCK So I'm cooking add and just like anything else and backtrack we'll have to give our time blocks a code and a description. So maybe for this first example, I'll create one hour blocks. So I'll call it just a one hour block time block.
00:01:35:16 - 00:02:03:23
So call it one hour blocks. Oops. And we can use the same description and there's not much more we need to fill out on this screen. We can click the Time Blocks tab on the right to actually define the dates and times and days of the week. We want these blocks to go four. So we're going to click Add here.
00:02:03:23 - 00:02:26:12
And so we'll say Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday let's do 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., our blocks. Oops, that's our date. So our beginning, end date. If you want these time blocks to go on forever, you can just leave the end date blank. But if you know your time blocks are going to be ending at a certain date, you can put an end date in.
00:02:26:12 - 00:02:52:02
Or if you know they're beginning at a certain date, you can do a begin date. But in my case, I'll just leave the beginning and end times blank and I'll put my begin time as 8 a.m. in my end time as 5 p.m.. And so my block options pretty much always going to be allowed since I'm saying allow reservations at these times, it's just usually easier to word it that way instead of disallow.
00:02:52:18 - 00:03:12:20
So 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.. And then I will want to use this interval minutes because this is the amount of time and minutes between each block. So if I say 60 here, that's 60 minutes. So that's going to make our blocks from 8 to 9, 9 to 10, 10 to 11 and so forth until we reach 5 p.m..
00:03:12:20 - 00:03:36:05
So that did it for Monday through Friday and I can see an hourly block for each one. So if I add more, maybe now I want to do a different time for weekends. So I'll just pick Saturday and Sunday and maybe weekends isn't until starting at 11 a.m. and maybe it ends a little later at 8 p.m. and will do again.
00:03:36:05 - 00:04:13:17
60 Minutes and we'll click Save. So that's our hourly blocks and maybe now we'll go through creating one more with four day blocks. So we already have that one if we want to link it. But I'm going to create a different one and maybe I know these four day blocks are going to end at the end of the year for 2022.
00:04:13:17 - 00:04:34:14
So maybe I'll use an end date this time. We'll call it day blocks. So this would be more of a case where they're not they don't have the flexibility to book for a few hours of of of a facility. They have to book it the whole day if they're going to make any reservation. So this would be a good example of where you can use those.
00:04:34:14 - 00:05:06:23
So we'll say all seven days of the week and we'll say it's going to start today and it's going to end on the last day of 2022. And a four day reservation for me is eight. It aimed 11 p.m. and in this case, since it is full day, we don't want to use an interval minutes, we want to use zero, which is use beginning and time as a single block.
00:05:06:23 - 00:05:30:11
So in that case we just need one block from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. all seven days of the week and we click Save. And so now we've got two different time blocks, one link to each of those facilities and if I switch over to webchat now and go to my facilities, search screen, mostly these are my two facilities with time.
00:05:30:11 - 00:05:58:07
BLOCK So today is a Thursday. So for my first facility, I'm going to fall into that 8 to 9 range. So 9 to 10 we've got 10 to 11, 11 to 12. So these are all my hourly blocks. So that worked out like we wanted to ending at 5 p.m.. And then if I switch it to a Saturday where we increase those times, I think from starting at 11 a.m. and at 8 p.m., we can see it made that change.
00:05:58:28 - 00:06:18:05
And then if we go back to the 15th, I guess it really doesn't matter for this day because we did all seven days of the week. This is our single boxer. You have to book it from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.. So for these hourly ones, really all you're doing when you're reserving them is you can select one or you can select really as many as you want and add those to CART.
00:06:19:05 - 00:06:41:21
And if you have fees on by the hour, it's going to calculate those. It's going to add them all to your cart. So that's just a good overview of going through and setting up facility time blocks in an hourly fashion and just whole day events. As you can imagine, you can get pretty customized with your time blocks where you can have different times on weekends or any really day of the week.
00:06:41:21 - 00:06:48:20
Maybe some days are opening earlier, closing a little later or anything like that. So you do have flexibility with those time blocks.
