How to increase the number of search results in WebTrac 3.1
Problem
Is there a setting I have access to where I can change the WebTrac Search limit? Right now it's at 100, so you cannot see more than 100 results. I'd like it to show ALL results. Thanks for any help you can provide!
Solution
Yes. You can increase the number of search results to display on WebTrac. Keep in mind, however, that increasing search results causes searches, themselves, to take a little longer to resolve. This difference should be negligible to the end users unless you have thousands of sections on the web at any one time.
To Increase the Number of Search Results in WebTrac:
1. In RecTrac, go to Management ribbon System Management WebTrac Management group WebTrac Management Screen Management.
2. Highlight/select your WebTrac Activity Search Screen, and click Change. The first column should have ARWebSearch.
3. In the middle column, expand the tree and find the folder labeled 'ARWebSearch_OutPut_Table (Table).' Using the standard screen design, you would need to expand the ARWebSearch_Tab1 ARWebSeach_Group4.
4. Select the folder ARWebSearch_OutPut_Table (Table)
5. Click the Advanced Field Parameters Button on the upper right.
6. Change the Results Max field to the value of search results you want displayed. You should probably limit it to 500, but you can try a larger value if you have more programs than that.
Note: You can also change the results per page value to show more than 20 sections. This is maintained in the ResultsPerPage field.
7. Click Save and exit back to the main RecTrac menu. Changes take effect immediately. Launch WebTrac and perform a search.
To increase search results for other modules, follow the same directions as above. In Step 2, substitute the module abbreviation only. For Example: If you want to increase Search results for Facilities, you would select your FRWebSearch record instead of the ARWebSearch record.
