3.1 WebTrac will not send forgotten email and password messages
Problem
Web Registration's forgotten email and password messages are not delivered when RecTrac's Email Profile has a 'From' Email Address set to <Email Address Defined in RecTrac User>. With WebTrac the username resolves to the WWW user, and by default there is no email address for that account. Emails cannot be delivered because a blank From Email Address is invalid.
Solution
There are two possible solutions.
Enter an Email Address for the WWW User
Note: In the majority of situations the WWW user is configured for WebTrac, however, if you use a different account then you MUST select it instead.
1. In RecTrac, go to the Management Ribbon System Management User/Menu/Profile Management group User Management.
2. Highlight the WWW user and then click Change.
3. Enter a value in the Email Address field, and then click Save.
Replace <Emaill Address Defined in RecTrac User> With a Static Email Address
1. In RecTrac, go to the Management Ribbon System Management User/Menu/Profile Management group Profile Assignment.
2. Expand the Email Profile, highlight the desired record, and then click Update.
3. For the 'From' Email Address, you will replace the dynamic <Emaill Address Defined in RecTrac User> value with a static email address and then click Save.
