3.1 How to add "This is a Demo/Testing site" to WebTrac Demo
Default Subject
Problem
We want to differentiate between the Live and Demo WebTrac pages by adding "This is a Demo/Testing site" message to WebTrac Demo.
Solution
Sure, to do this you will have to create a demo-specific Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) and update your WebTrac template.
Note: Vermont Systems Fully-Hosted or Web-Hosted customers: you cannot do this on your own. Please contact Vermont Systems Support.
Steps for Solution for On-Premise Customers
- Log into your WebTrac Server and find your customer specific CSS file. (X:\vsi3\rectrac\webserver\web\css\<statecustomer>31.css)
- Open the css file using Notepad locate #demo within the css file.
- Remove display: none; from the grouping under #demo.
- Save As and label the file statecustomer 31demo.css. Save it into the same css folder as the original css file.
- Log into RecTrac.
- Go to Comment Management and filter by Record Type to "WebTrac Template."
- Locate your HTML Template and click Change.
- Find <div id="outer" XXXXX> and before that and just after </noscript> input <?VSI-DemoWarning?>. The entry shyould look like this:
</noscript>
<?VSI-DemoWarning?>
<div id="outer" class="<?VSI-Routine?>"> - Verify the Demo WebTrac Interface Parameter is toggled as the "Demo Interface" within Interface Parameters.
- Repeat steps 5-9 in the RecTrac demo database or preform a live to demo refresh.
- Log into your WebTrac demo site. Clear cache and you should see the demo warning.
