3.1 Unable to log into WebTrac
Default Subject
Problem
Patrons are unable to log into WebTrac. Once WebTac login credentials are entered, the login routine brings them back to the guest account. No error message is presented.
Solution
This issue can be produced by time zone settings on either the WebTrac server or RecTrac server being incorrect. It can also be a result of the timezone setting in the Static Parameter profile being incorrect, or a result of a default cookie path defined on the WebSpeed broker within the ubroker.properties file on the rectrac server. What is happening is that the session you are given is being cleared immediately upon login and auto logging you out back to the guest account.
Steps For Solution
- Check all timezone settings in Windows and in your server BIOS configurations. Do this for your RecTrac and WebTrac servers and, if applicable, your virtual host server.
- Log into RecTrac and find Profile Assignments.
- Click the Static Parameters button and verify the Default Time Zone is set correctly.
- Expand Session Cleaner Settings in the Static Parameter Profile and confirm the WebTrac Warning and Timeout Settings are correct. (Values are in minutes.)
- Stop your WebSpeed WebLive Broker in OpenEdge Explorer Tool.
- On the RecTrac server, go to x:\vis3\progress\properties\ and edit the ubroker.properties file.
- Find the WebSpeed broker section and locate the WebLive Broker.
- Review the list of settings for an entry listed as defaultCookiePath=XXXXXXX. and delete it.
- Save the edited ubroker.properties file.
- Restart your webspeed WebLive broker using the OpenEdge Explorer Tool.
