Summary
CardConnect EMV payment card processing currently is designed to work with only the above Customer Facing Terminals. Vermont Systems does not sell, install, or support EMV payment card readers for CardConnect customers. The physical units must be purchased, configured, and supported through CardConnect. The Customer Facing Terminals must be:
· Configured for USB or Ethernet. Ethernet is the preferred option but is restricted to RecTrac 3.1 only.
· If Ethernet, then be configured with a static IP address.
Client workstations on your network on which you process credit card sales must:
· If USB, then have Vermont Integration Client (VIC) installed as a Service or an Executable (RecTrac 3.1).
· If Ethernet, then be configured with a static IP address (RecTrac3.1 only)
Vermont Systems will assist with and support RecTrac configuration and set up as it applies to Customer Facing Terminal, including installation of Credit Card and Pin Pad profile creation and linking, and standard daily processing functions, and VIC (RecTrac3.1. only).
Customer and CardConnect Responsibilities Relating to Customer Facing Terminals
CardConnect EMV payment card processing is designed to work with Customer Facing Terminals. Vermont Systems does not sell or support EMV payment card readers. The physical units must be purchased, configured and supported through CardConnect.
The following are your responsibilities with CardConnect:
1 CardConnect must be your payment card processing solution.
2 Discuss with CardConnect you rroll-out or testing plan. Are you converting all accounts? Simply testing a unit but want to stay live with non-EMV units until a certain period? CardConnect has to make changes to your account so it is important that they know your plan for implementing. Your migration to the EMV readers must be scheduled with CardConnect.
3 Purchase Customer Facing Terminals from CardConnect. CardConnect does not support hardware they do not sell. When purchasing the units, confirm with CardConnect that they will be shipped to you:
With USB or Ethernet Cables. RecTrac has been coded to work with either USB or Ethernet Cable. Bolt interface is Ethernet only
4 Upon receipt of Customer Facing Terminals, you must coordinate with CardConnect to configure the hardware. Please do not contact Vermont Systems until after you have completed the hardware configuration for the Customer Facing Terminals with CardConnect assistance, as needed.
When working with CardConnect:
· Confirm the units shipped with USB or Ethernet cables.
· If Ethernet, confirm the units are configured for STATIC IP addressing. This is a "must" for Ethernet readers, as an IP Address mismatch between the reader and the POS workstation will result in login/processing failures. Do not agree to DHCP addressing.
· Work with CardConnect to download and install the latest drivers for your card reader(s).
· Confirm the units have the latest Firmware. This can be verified with CardConnect during the configuration process.
· Obtain a Client ID, Master Key, and Terminal ID from CardConnect for each reader. Ensure each unit is configured with this data.
· Write these values down on a separate piece of paper, as they will be needed for RecTrac profile configuration.
5 Ensure each Customer Facing Terminal boots up properly.
6 After you have properly configured the Customer Facing Terminals, you are ready for RecTrac integration.
7 Debit Card Customers (3.1 and 10.3):PIN Debit is NOT available with EMV, so accepting Debit Cards as Pin Debit Cards is not an option with EMV. Debit Cards must be taken as Credit Cards. Discuss this with CardConnect as needed.

Customer IT Responsibilities Relating to Your Network
1 If Ethernet, then assign STATICIP Addresses to all workstations from which payments will be processed using CardConnect and the Customer Facing Terminals. This is a "must," since an IP Address mismatch between the Customer Facing Terminal and the POS workstation will result in login/processing failures. Do not assign DHCP addresses.
2 If USB (RecTrac 3.1 only) Install VIC (Service or EXE) on EACH POS workstation from which credit cards will be processed using CardConnect and the Customer Facing Terminals.
· If VIC.exe, then it must be installed for each Windows User ID that will log into the workstation to process CardConnect payment card transactions in RecTrac. Vermont Systems Support can assist with this process.
