Problem
When attempting to process a credit card, we get the following error.
Error Message
Unable to process transaction - Verify that you have a PayTrac PIN pad profile linked and that the DeviceID is not blank
Solution
Verify VIC is connected and has assigned the proper workstation name to the session. If VIC is connected and the workstation assignment is visible, verify the correct Pinpad Profile is linked to the workstation.
Steps For Solution
To check if the Workstation is assigned to the session:
- From the RecTrac home screen, click the initials of your username in the lower left corner.
- You should see the Username, User group, and the current Workstation.
- If the Workstation does not appear there, troubleshoot VIC or pass the workstation name in URL.
To link a Pinpad Profile:
- From the RecTrac main menu, go to Profile Assignments.
- Expand Workstations and locate your workstation.
- From the Available Profiles, locate the desired Pinpad Profile.
- Drag and drop the Pinpad Profile to the desired Workstation.
Attempt to process credit card sale again. The transaction should now process without error.
