Manual credit card entry using CardConnect in 3.1
Problem
We are switching to card connect for our processor of credit cards. We are in the testing phase and we are running into an issue with manual CC entry. If a patron calls on the phone to book a facility we need the ability to enter a credit card manually. Card Connect recommended that we contact VSI for assistance with this.
Solution
Manual credit card entry using CardConnect and the Ingenico Pin Pads is support. Your best option here is to create a Manual Credit Card Payment Code.
1. Go to Payment Code Management.
2. Add a Payment Code. Payment Type = Credit Card.
3. In the Prefix Validation field, enter the word, 'Manual.'
4. Fill out the remaining fields as you normally would. Use the 'i' or '?' Help buttons for field definitions as needed.
5. Save the record.
6. Go to Profile Management and add the new Payment Code to the Allowed Pay Codes field of all applicable Payment profiles. On the standard VSI design, this field is located on the Pay Code Restrictions group.
When you process a sale in RecTrac and select the Manual Credit Card Payment Code, the Ingenico unit will switch to manual entry mode, and you may complete the sale.
