Problem
We are having a problem setting up an installment bill with auto-debit for one patron. When the patron swipes her credit card, the MX830 says error - declined. It's an American Express card and it is a valid card.
Solution
If you are setting up a credit card auto-debit record using a non-MOTO account and the patron wishes to use Amex, the patron will need to manually key their credit card info into the MX830 at POS. American Express will not process a $0 swipe transaction.
With a MOTO account used to process credit card auto-debiting, this is a moot topic. In this case, you do not set up any credit card auto-debit records via swipe, regardless of the card brand. All auto-debit patrons manually key their credit card info into the MX830.
