Welcome to Fast Track in this video we'll be covering the installation of the Next Gen version of VIC the Vermont integration client. To follow along you'll need admin access to the workstation installing VIC one and a .net framework 4.8 or higher access to the VIC Profile and RecTrac 3.1.10 or later and access to the Remote Systems sFTP site the details are covered in KB1516. You will need to determine if you connect RecTrac with HTTPS you will need to install VIC, verify the VIC connection and then we'll cover some extra resources. Let's get started. If you're using HTTPS as your connection, the first step will be to navigate to the Vermont systems sFTP site. Go to files updates and drivers and then RecTrac, 3.1, VIC certs and download the vsivicca.cer certificate once you have downloaded the Certificate, navigate to your downloads folder and double Click on the Certificate. You will get a prompt asking you if you want to install the Certificate. Click on that. Then make sure that you're selecting local machine you need to be logged in as the admin user for this option to be available. We'll hit Next. And then we're going to choose to place the Certificate into the trusted root Certificate authority folder when we hit Next, and Finish that will complete the Certificate import. When you're ready to install VIC, we recommend doing a search in our support center for Next Gen VIC the first result should be the Quick Install Guide for Next Gen VIC and that is KB number 01401. When we go down to installing Next Gen VIC exe we have a convenient link to download the file we can Click on that make sure that you do not run VIC from your download we want to make sure that we are showing in folder so that we can then right Click on it and access the Run as Administrator Button we need this advanced credential to run this process properly. When we select run as administrator, we will get our VIC installation process asking us where we're going to install this we can accept the defaults hit next, we leave these as the defaults. The VIC service is only necessary if you are running access control. If you are running access control in RecTrac Please contact Vermont Systems for help with installing the VIC service. Otherwise, we always recommend the executable. Click Next, Click install and wait for the installation to complete. Once VIC has been successfully installed, we hit finish and then we can validate the installation. Once the installation is complete, we can validate the installation by verifying that we see the VIC icon in the taskbar for the workstation in question. We can also log into RecTrac and verify the VIC connection status icon. In the top left corner we might need to clear some notifications. But that indicates that VIC is connected. Repeat these steps on any workstations necessary and enjoy using the next generation of the Vermont integration client. For additional resources KB 1516 will have the Username and password for the FTP site. 1401 will have the Next Gen install guide we recommended chrome instead of Firefox and the executables recommended as the Next Gen only requires a single install per workstation.
