3.1 VIC installs but won't connect when using Fire Fox or Chrome, works in IE
Problem
VSI VIC works in Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) but not in Google Chrome of Mozilla Fire Fox.
- The http://domainname.com/aia/Aiavic address resolves to "Internal commands restricted: access denied." message.
- VIC log shows unable to connect to appserver...(7032)
Solution
See this workaround to https://support.oneidentity.com/kb/261393/-err_spdy_inadequate_transport_security-or-ns_error_net_inadequate_security-error-encountered-when-accessing-iis-10-0 resolve the issue.
"When using Google Chrome to access any site hosted on IIS 10.0, the error ERR_SPDY_INADEQUATE_TRANSPORT_SECURITY is encountered. When using Mozilla Firefox to access any site hosted on IIS 10.0, the NS_ERROR_NET_INADEQUATE_SECURITY error is encountered. The same sites function as expected in Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge. By default, IIS 10.0 (which is installed on Windows 2016 by default) has HTTP/2 enabled. This is not supported in the current default configuration of Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox."
This can be addressed on the server-side by setting the following registry keys and the restarting the host Windows server:
Steps:
- Search for and then open Regedit.exe.
- Go to \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP\Parameters\.
- Set EnableHttp2Tls DWORD (32-bit) Value 0.
- Edit EnableHttp2Cleartext DWORD (32-bit) Value 0.
