Weekly/Monthly Fees: Charging Daily

Problem
We link weekly fees to our rentals. However, these weekly fees are being charged every day. Why is this happening if the fee is set to weekly?
Solution
If the fees are set up as "Weekly" or "Monthly" in the Time Count Type in your Time Based Settings in Advanced Fee Change, you also need to adjust the Time Factor field. If you set a weekly or monthly fee, these fees will still charge every day if the Time Factor is still set to the default of 1.00, which is meant for the "Daily" or "Flat" Time Count Type. For the "Weekly" Time Count Type, set the Time Factor to 5.00 or 7.00, and for the "Monthly" Time Count Type, set the Time Factor to 30.00. This will tell RecTrac the amount of days needed to charge this fee.
Steps For Solution
- From the Management DataGrid, select the item to which you have applied a weekly/monthly fee.
- Click Change.
- Click the Fees tab.
- Select the fee that is supposed to be weekly/monthly from the DataGrid.
- Click Change > Advanced Fee Change.
- Expand the Time Based Settings group.
- Make sure the Time Count Type is set to "Weekly" or "Monthly."
- Enter in the amount of days necessary to charge the fee (5.00 or 7.00 for Weekly, 30.00 for Monthly) in the Time Factor field.
- Click Save to save the fee.
- Click Save again to save the item.
Your weekly/monthly fees now should charge at the appropriate intervals.
