10.3 and 3.1 MK7120 Scanner - Win 7 Compatibility Issue
Problem
We have an MK7120 scanner that isn't working on a Windows 7 64bit machine. The computer returns a 'Driver could not be installed' error when attaching the device.
Solution
Honeywell tech support stated that the issue was the USB connection cable and not the scanner. The cable itself has a 'pod' that can be pried open to reveal a set of dip switches. These switches can be configured in a manner that allows keyboard data entry in Windows 7. The configuration needs to be completed by scanning a set of barcodes provided by Honeywell.
