3.1 Topaz Timeout before Daily Processing Profile's Waiver Timeout Setting due to VIC Version Mismatch.
RecTrac 3.1.10.16.01
Table of Contents
Problem
When prompted via a sale in Global Sales, a waiver item will ask user to sign the signature pad and then will time out within a few seconds despite the timeout setting being set to 60 seconds (or higher). All other hardware run properly, and VIC appears to be connected.
Solution
Sometimes the VIC version may not have updated when RecTrac updated. With RecTrac version 3.1.10.10.04 or higher, you should be on VIC version 3.1.8 or higher. If you click the Support icon and "Exe:3.1.7" displays at the bottom (where you also see your RecTrac version,) this could be the reason the Topaz signature pad is timing out early.
Steps For Solution
- In RecTrac, click the Support icon on the workstation with the Topaz unit.
- Check the VIC version at the screen's bottom left.
- If it says 3.1.7, VIC may not have updated to the most recent version. VIC will need to be uninstalled.
- Re-install VIC via exe installer (Note: Topaz signature pads need to be EXE and not service VIC).
- Log out of RecTrac and log back in.
- Sell a Waiver item that requires a signature.
If following these steps does not resolve the timeout issue, please contact Vermont Systems support team for further troubleshooting.
