3.1 Scans not processing within RecTrac despite Scanner being set in Serial Emulation Mode
Problem
We have configured the scanner to be in Serial Emulation mode but the scans are still not processing in RecTrac.
Solution
If you see the scans scanning in the VIC Log but the scans are still not processing in RecTrac, it probably means that "VIC Long Polling" is broken. This essentially means VIC does not have permissions to listen for the swipes. You can confirm this if you see these entries in the VIC log:
[19/05/23@11:29:52.906-0500] - (0-0078) 'netsh http add urlacl url=http://*:65120/ user=.\users' Command was unable to run without admin rights.
Without the URL access granted VIC will not startup properly. These symptoms are typical of a VIC install that was not done as a true admin.
Steps for Resolution:
- Close VIC.
- Go to the VIC profile in Profile Assignments.
- Copy the VIC deployment URL from the VIC Installation tab.
- Launch Internet Explorer as an Admin.
- Paste the Deployment URL into a new tab to reinstall VIC as an Admin user.
- Test another swipe and this time it should work.
