After migrating our server to PAS our cameras stopped working
RecTrac 3.1.10.32.00

Problem
We recently switched over to a PAS server environment and noticed our workstation cameras are not working. We try to hit "snap photo" and this goes to another window but it is blank and will not activate the camera or take a photo.
Solution
The PAS conversion changes the format of the URL that the camera uses and Chrome did not have the new address as an approved entry within Chrome's settings.
Note:
An additional requirement for cameras to be used through your browsers is to make sure you are on an HTTPS connection and have the Use HTML5 toggle on in the photo profile being used.
Steps For Solution
To add the new camera URL to the approved URL Chrome browser settings:
- In Chrome, click the 3 dot Menu in the upper right of the browser.
- Click Settings.
- Click Privacy and security.
- Click Site settings.
- Locate and click the new PAS Server URL which can usually be found under recent websites.
- Under the Permissions column, set the Camera field to Allow.
To verify your photo profile is configured to use HTML5:
- From the RecTrac main menu, go to Profile Assignments.
- Locate and highlight the Photo Profile used for this workstation.
- Click Update.
- Verify the Use HTML5 Video instead of VIC for video capture toggle is active, if not toggle on.
- Click Save.
Verify the camera is now functioning properly from the household update screen. Click Member Details for any family member, then click View Photo, and click Take Photo. The camera should now activate within the browser.
