Problem
Is there a way to split a household? It would be ideal if history can be split as well. Can history be cloned?
Solution
This can be accomplished in all RecTrac products using the Household Transfer/Merge program.
From the RecTrac main menu search for Household Transfer/Merge or navigate to System Management > Household Management group > Household Transfer/Merge (in the Standard VSI Design).
Household Transfer/Merge provides much of this functionality. To split a household, create a new household (with or without members from the original household) and then use Household Transfer/Merge > Partial Merge to populate it. Refer to the attached Topic Document for complete step-by-step printable instructions. History records cannot be cloned.
The Household Transfer/Merge program moves all rosters, history, passes, reservations, etc for the affected households. If you get a conflicting message that a Family Member that won't merge, it means that duplicate items have been found in both the FROM and TO households. You will need to check for the following items: current roster entries, previous roster (history) entries, pass types, and credit balances. Typically you would cancel or delete the duplicate from the FROM household and let it stay on the TO household.
