10.3 and 3.1 Reversing a Full Household Merge
Problem
Can you reverse a Full Household Merge?
Solution
Technically the answer is 'No.' You cannot reverse a full merge because the 'From' household gets removed from the database. However, you do you have options!
The best one is to restore the most recent copy of your database prior to the merge. This is the best option because you won't lose any history of that household.
If restoring a copy of the database is not an option, then we recommend recreating the household. If you use this option, then create a new household and enter the Primary Guardian's information only. Then do a Partial Merge to replace the family members. This is not as optimal as restoring, since certain data, such as complete transaction history, cash and GL records, etc. may be lost in the process.
See the attached Topic Document for more information and printable instructions regarding the Transfer/Merge program.
