10.3 and 3.1 Embedding Links in RecConnect to WebTrac that require Login and Redirect to a Particular Page
Problem
Is there a way to create links to our WebTrac site that require patrons to login first, and upon login then redirect them to a particular page?
For Example: We send a RecConnect email reminding Members of their upcoming membership expiration with a link to Renew Your Pass By Clicking Here. They need them to login, but after login we want them automatically to be redirected to the Pass Renewal page.
OR: A RecConnect email to all users with a balance due with a link to Pay your balance,' which redirects them to the payment page.
OR: A link on their Web site or in an email to Print a childcare statement,' login first then go straight to the reports, etc...
Solution
Yes. LoginRedirect= and LoginRedirectParam<x> tags allow for this functionality in RecConnect emails and can be used to redirect to, essentially, any WebTrac page by passing the parameters you wish.
The process is a normal URL to the Login.html page followed by:
?LoginRedirect=<HTML page you want to redirect to after login>&LoginRedirectParam1=<1st Parameter you wish to pass>&LoginRedirectValue1=<Value of the 1st parameter you wish to pass>
1. The Renewal example would be accomplished using the following link:
<Base HREF>/login.html?LoginRedirect=renewal.html&LoginRedirectParam1=module&LoginRedirectValue1=PM
For Example: <a href='https://bedfordfallsparks.com/web/wswc/bedlivewt.wsc/login.html?LoginRedirect=renewal.html&LoginRedirectParam1=module&LoginRedirectValue1=PM'>Renew Your Pass By Clicking Here</a>
2. The Pay Old Balance example is accomplished using the following link
<Base HREF>/login.html?LoginRedirect=history.html&LoginRedirectParam1=HistoryOption&LoginRedirectValue1=payold
For Example: <a href='https://bedfordfallsparks.com/web/wswc/bedlivewt.wsc/ login.html?LoginRedirect=history.html&LoginRedirectParam1=HistoryOption&LoginRedirectValue1=payold'>Pay your balance</a>
3. The Print Childcare Statement example is accomplished using the following link
<Base HREF>/login.html?LoginRedirect=report.html&LoginRedirectParam1=option&LoginRedirectValue1=webchildcarestatement&LoginRedirectParam2=output&LoginRedirectValue2=stream
For Example: <a href='https://bedfordfallsparks.com/web/wswc/bedlivewt.wsc/login.html?LoginRedirect=report.html&LoginRedirectParam1=option&LoginRedirectValue1=webchildcarestatement&LoginRedirectParam2=output&LoginRedirectValue2=stream'>Print a Childcare Statement</a>
This can be extended for any number of parameters you want/need to pass with the redirect link, each needing to have a ParamName# and ParamValue#
For example, if you wanted to create a link that would send someone to the login page, and after login have them redirected to Activity Search results for Basketball programs for 5 years old boys, you could use the link below, that has four (4) Params:
<a href='https://bedfordfallsparks.com/web/wswc/bedlivewt.wsc/login.html?LoginRedirect=search.html&LoginRedirectParam1=Module&LoginRedirectValue1=AR&LoginRedirectParam2=Type&LoginRedirectValue2=HOOP&LoginRedirectParam3=Age&LoginRedirectValue3=5&LoginRedirectParam4=Gender&LoginRedirectValue4=Male
So, for each additional parameter you wish to pass the syntax is LoginRedirectParam#=<Param Name>&LoginRedirectValue#=<Param Value>, you need to increase the # for each additional parameter and match the param name and value to each other with the corresponding #.
