10.3 and 3.1 Please call VSI to Properly Setup VSINews/Unable to Connect to VSINews
Problem
A user can log into RecTrac, but only after a long wait. They then get one of the following messages.
Please call VSI to properly setup VSINews.
Users should be getting VSINews fro the local database. The scheduler should be configured to obtain news and updates from the VSI Main Server.
You will be allowed to continue to obtain VSINews items.
OR
Unable to Connect to VSINews/Alerts Administrator Device.
What should we check?
Solution
We determined that the user was linked to a VSINews device that pointed to the VSINews site directly. We switched her to a VSINews device that points to the local database. See attached document for proper setup.
