Problem
How are sessions managed in RecTrac and WebTrac 3.1?
Solution
Since RecTrac 3.1 is a web-based application, session management is handled much like it has been in WebTrac since inception. In both applications, each login (either by a user or a patron) is assigned a Session IDs. The Session ID is how the system is able to keep all data requests and processes separate. Optionally, cookies will be used for session management.
A session-cleaner process runs in the background (according to user-defined settings) to end abandoned sessions, reverse unfinished transactions and empty shopping carts.
