Problem
Solution
In RecTrac 3.1, all screens are built according to user-defined data (see also Screen Definitions and Field Parameters). This customizability has to be balanced against how data intensive a data-driven user interface is.
Caching screens (saving their layout in a cache table) is one way to speed up screen display times.
Each time a screen is requested, if it exists in the cache table, the cached copy is used. If it does not exist, the screen is freshly built, displayed and cached for the next time.
The cache table can be
1 cleared completely (click Clear All Cache),
2 cleared one screen at a time (highlight a row and click Clear Cache),
3 bypassed one program at a time (right-click on the shortcut or link and choose Disable Cache),
4 or bypassed globally.
