Problem
What are some of the things in RecTrac 3.1 that can be customized for my organization?
Solution
There are a wide variety of elements that can be customized in RecTrac 3.1. Here is a brief overview:
1 Designs - System codes that designate customized elements. Those system codes get linked to Menu Design Profiles, and Screen Design Profiles. You can have different designs based on user, user group, workstation, etc..
2 Screens - Using the VSI Screen Design as a base, you can customize any and all screens in RecTrac and WebTrac. Every field and widget on every screen can be customized. Some commonly edited field parameters that you may wish to edit are field labels, what fields show or dont show, what is required or optional, what fields are grouped together.
3 Charts - a graphical representation of report data. Charts can display either by clicking on a custom menu item or as a Dashboard page of graphs.
4 Buttons - An icon representation of either a navigation link or a functional process. Button labels and styles can be modified.
5 Menus - Using the VSI Menu Design as a base, you can customize any and all menus in RecTrac and WebTrac.
6 Report Criteria - Using the VSI Report Design as a base, you can add and customize Report Selection Criteria screens in RecTrac.
7 Report Output - Using the VSI Report Output Design as a base, you can add and customize Report Output designs in RecTrac.
8 Styles - Like WebTrac, RecTrac's look is now controlled by Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) markup. CSS can control font size, font family, colors, background images, page dimensions, margins, padding, alignment and more.
9 Help - Customizing the Help in RecTrac 3.1 is accessed via Screen Management (using your custom design, NOT the VSI design), and then adding the custom field level help to the CustomHelp field in Advanced Field Parameters.
