Problem
Solution
In prior releases of RecTrac, allowances and restrictions were usually set at the item level: activities, passes, lockers, leagues, etc had age, grade, date, and headcount restrictions/allowances. In RecTrac 3.1, allowance and restriction criteria such as the above examples are created independently and linked at many levels. Criteria apply to Fees, and Rules. The independence of criteria means that they can be setup at whatever level they are appropriate and not setup at all if they dont apply.
Criteria, if met, will determine who can or cannot do something, what they can or cannot do, when it can happen or when it is restricted from happening, and what the patron will be charged.
Some examples:
You have a 60+ age restriction for Senior activities and trips: Create a Rule with Age criteria of 60+ and link it to the Type/Subtype/Category system codes that your Senior activities and trips are tagged with. If the patron registering for a Senior trip is 63, they will be allowed to register. If they are 59, they will not be allowed.
You have a 10% discount for Seniors: You can create a 10% Fee Discount with Age criteria of 60+ and link the discount wherever it applies, lets say every module except Facility Reservations. If a patron buying a pool pass is 71, they will get a 10% discount. If they are 40, they will be charged full price.
